Gits Rice Idli is an instant mix for preparing idli. The main ingredient of this recipe is rice flour. This is a traditional breakfast dish in South India. They are prepared with a special vessel that has shallow pits on it. They are cooked in steam. They are considered a healthy breakfast as there is no need of any oil in this preparation. They are best served with sambar or chutneys. The traditional process of preparing idli requires soaking of rice and dal overnight and then grounding them into a paste. This paste is also left overnight so that the paste gets fermented and puffed up. Then only finally a soft idli can be prepared. This a tedious and much time taking process. All you will need to do is mix the ingredients with a small amount of water so that a thick creamy batter is ready.
