The gulab jamuns are golden brown in colour from outside but they are creamy or white from inside. The main ingredient of this sweet is milk solids or mawa. They are also prepared with milk powder directly. But here milk solids are aired for making small round balls. These balls are fried in pure ghee. When they are fried in slow flame they get puffed into bigger sized balls. These balls are then dipped into the sugar syrup where they soak the syrup in 1 to 2 hours. After they soak the sugar syrup completely they can be served hot or cold as per your choice. They are also garnished with a fried nut on top of each gulab jamun.
