When they are fried in slow flame they get puffed into bigger sized balls. These balls are then dipped into the sugar syrup where they soak the syrup in 1 to 2 hours. After they soak the sugar syrup completely they can be served hot or cold as per your choice. They are also garnished with a fried nut on top of each gulab jamun.
